Kazan is a city of about 3 million I believe. I went there just to fly back to Moscow because the airport in Yoshkar-Ola is closed. More evidence of that is the airport in Kazan. The picture below is the terminal for both departures and arrivals.

This is the ticket counter.

This is one and only outgoing gate. Remember, this is a city of about 3 million.

This is the aeroflot jet that I took to Moscow. There reall are places where you walk across the tarmac and up the steps to the jet

On the flight from Moscow to New York we flew past Greenland and unlike the trip over there were no clouds. I am sorry that I did not have my camera handy because this view was absolutely stunning. Possibly the most stunning that I have ever seen. The southern edge of greenland is all rocky mountain carved by glaciers so there are a lot of groves cut through the rock exposing the layers of rock which was mostly gray and brown with a reddish tint. Behind the row of coastal mojhtains was all ice. And here were places were the ice would push between the peaks to the ocean. The coast was veryy jagged with lots of inlets where the ice would slide into the water and break off. In fact you could see patterns in the ice in places where it was beginning to break. And then the ice would drive south in to the north Atlantic looking for speeding luxury liners. It was stunning.
