Palo Verde National Park , Costa Rica

On Friday we took a river cruise through the Palo Verde National Park where we a saw jungle wildlife. Obviously a lot of the wildlife was difficult to photograph from a rocking boat. It was an interesting experience being in a small wooden boat with crocodiles swinning around. It was definitely not like the zoo. The highlight of the cruise was when they pulled the boat over to the side and the white faces monkeys climbed on board looking for bananas.

It is hard to see in a still photo but if you look closely you can see that the tree is covered with bats.

Crocodiles

It is one thing to see crocidile in the zoo. It is another to ride down the river in a small wooren boad with them swimming all around. I never really felt in danger because the boad was bogger than the crocodiles so they weren't likely to do anything, but we all understood that if anyone went out of the boad for some reason they probably were not coming back.

Iguanas

it is hard to tell the dimensions from the photos but some of these guys were probably 5 feet long and wider that your arm.
